History
Rescadero Reclamation District No. 2058 was formed by A.O. Stewart on November 21, 1921 for the purposes of drainage, levee maintenance, and distributing water for irrigation. Mr. Stewart owned a majority of the land comprising the District and exercised both riparian and pre-1914 appropriative water rights on his land. These water rights were transferred to the District, which utilizes them to this day to provide irrigation water to its landowners, many of whom still cultivate crops.
